How do I determine the proper rope length to order? Order Rope Here.
ADA 4.4.1 Specification
It is important to position your posts to allow the correct amount of slack in the rope. A correctly measured and installed rope will hang with its center a minimum of 24" from the floor. If the posts are too close or the rope is too long, the rope will be too close to the floor and may present a tripping hazard. Conversely, a rope that is too short, or posts that are too far apart, will make the rope too taut, requiring only a slight downward pressure on the rope to comprimise the stability of the posts.
Proper spacing of the posts allows each rope to hang gracefully, while ensuring the stability and safety of your installation.
- Once you choose a post model, be sure not to exceed the maximum recommended rope length (distance between posts) indicated on each post's specification chart.
- When ordering rope, the maxiumum recommended rope length is 8 feet for domed or flat base and 6 feet for sloped base
